Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Suchart Chaowanungkarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chaowanungkarn comes to the cage accompanied by Muay Thai fight music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Suchart Chaowanungkarn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Smith! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chaowanungkarn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Suchart Chaowanungkarn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith tries to clinch up. Smith needs to keep his hands up - Chaowanungkarn had a free shot at his head there. Chaowanungkarn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Chaowanungkarn throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and checks it nicely. Smith steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chaowanungkarn. Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chaowanungkarn. Chaowanungkarn lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Smith checks a low kick from Chaowanungkarn. Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Chaowanungkarn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Chaowanungkarn avoids the head kick by Smith.

Chaowanungkarn makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chaowanungkarn has him pressed against the cage. Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Smith jumps guard but Chaowanungkarn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Chaowanungkarn in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Chaowanungkarn swings wildly with an uppercut but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it. Smith tries to score a body lock takedown but Chaowanungkarn shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Chaowanungkarn tries to land a knee to the head but Smith blocks with his arms.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chaowanungkarn pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Smith tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Smith looking for a takedown. Suchart Chaowanungkarn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Smith. Smith misses with a short punch on the inside. Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Chaowanungkarn has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Chaowanungkarn is pushing Smith up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Smith avoids a wild elbow strike from Chaowanungkarn. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smith creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Smith takes an elbow to the forehead. Smith lands a hook to the side of the head. Chaowanungkarn stalling in the clinch.

Chaowanungkarn gets through Smith's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Chaowanungkarn throws an elbow but it's blocked.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Chaowanungkarn lands an elbow inside that Smith shrugs off. Smith avoids a wild elbow strike from Chaowanungkarn. Chaowanungkarn misses with a knee to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. Smith looks to throw an elbow but misses. Chaowanungkarn throws an elbow that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chaowanungkarn throws a half hearted mid kick. Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chaowanungkarn to score with a decent uppercut. Smith shoots in and bounces Chaowanungkarn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Smith postures up in Chaowanungkarn's guard and throws a big left but Chaowanungkarn blocks it. Smith throws an elbow that misses. Chaowanungkarn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Chaowanungkarn! Chaowanungkarn wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Smith avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chaowanungkarn is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith working for a triangle but Chaowanungkarn defends it easily.
Smith has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Chaowanungkarn should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Smith has tightened it up now! Chaowanungkarn should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
