Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Duncan McAlister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Charlie McGregor! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGregor swings away with a leg kick that misses. McGregor throws a body punch but McAlister moves out of range. Charlie McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGregor throws a leg kick that misses. Sloppy strikes from McGregor. Those never looked like landing. McGregor throws a combination that misses enabling McAlister to counter with a crisp jab. McAlister dodges the punch combination from McGregor.
McGregor throws a combination that misses and McAlister counters with a crisp one two that drops McGregor! McAlister thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves McGregor to his feet! McGregor is in big trouble! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McGregor misses with the combination.
McGregor throws a series of punches but McAlister moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from McGregor is defended easily by McAlister. McGregor misses with a double jab
and McAlister counters with a stiff right hand. McGregor looks winded! McGregor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. McGregor throws a body kick that misses. A good leg kick by McGregor. McAlister feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McGregor sprawling to the canvas! McGregor rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can McAlister finish him?!
McGregor is rocked! The fight stays on the outside here - McAlister looks like he's thinking about clinching though. McGregor misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. McAlister cracks McGregor with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! McGregor looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McAlister finish him?
McGregor is still on wobbly legs! Can McAlister finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McGregor swinging wildly here.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. McAlister moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt McGregor! McAlister continues to tee off on McGregor, landing with a left and a right! McAlister connects with a right hand that leaves McGregor sleeping against the cage! What a finish by McAlister!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Duncan McAlister! Our winner, Duncan McAlister, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
