Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes to the cage accompanied by Super Sharp Shooter - The Ganja Kru . Roberts is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Real American. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Potter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chad Roberts! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Potter gets tackled into the cage by Roberts. Roberts maintains the clinch. Potter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Roberts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Potter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Roberts avoids it really well and circles away. Potter looks for a takedown but Roberts sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Potter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roberts shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Roberts was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Roberts looking to finish Potter with some ground and pound. This is bad for Potter! Roberts is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Potter can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roberts unloading with bombs! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Roberts punishing his opponent with strikes. Potter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Potter wants to control from the top but Roberts keeps moving. Potter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts trying to keep a closed guard but Potter is proving a slippery customer.
Potter with a nice head shot there. Potter trying to control but Roberts is working from the bottom. Roberts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roberts can do anything to dispel that myth. Potter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Potter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potter looking to pass the guard. Potter looking to sit in guard and control but Roberts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Potter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Roberts on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Potter looks to land a strike but Roberts avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Roberts working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potter thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Potter postures up in Roberts's guard and throws a big left but Roberts blocks it. Potter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Roberts dives on top into guard. Roberts stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Potter throws up his legs and catches Roberts in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Roberts tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Potter! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ryan Potter! A very excited looking Ryan Potter made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
