Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hane Goshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Fife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fife has chosen Fishin Hole as his entrance music. Hane Goshi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barney Fife!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fife closes the distance and clinches up with Goshi, looking for a takedown. Fife pushes Goshi against the cage but Goshi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Goshi thuds a left hand into Fife's body.
Goshi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Goshi jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Goshi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Goshi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fife is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Goshi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Goshi's back!
Fife cracks Goshi with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Goshi from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

No joy there for Goshi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fife shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Goshi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Goshi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fife tries for a takedown but Goshi circles away easily
and Goshi counters with a head kick. That will keep Fife thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Goshi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice straight punches there by Goshi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Goshi.
Fife doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Goshi counters with a series of strikes. Fife will be more careful next time no doubt.
Hane Goshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barney Fife.
Goshi throws a head kick but Fife moves out of range.

Fife decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fife is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Goshi!

Fife is landing with some decent strikes but Goshi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fife postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Goshi looks a forlorn figure.
