PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tonothan Kuhula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kuhula might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Native Drums from the South Pacific. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tonothan Kuhula! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Allen! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuhula throws a series of punches but Allen avoids them all with ease. Kuhula uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Allen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kuhula swivels and escapes. Nice cross by Kuhula. Allen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kuhula's guard. Kuhula is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kuhula keeping moving, preventing Allen from controlling successfully. Kuhula looking for a sweep. Not yet Kuhula, not yet. Allen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Allen trying to control but Kuhula is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by David Allen. Kuhula uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Kuhula does no damage. Kuhula looks to land a combination but Allen avoids it well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Allen is defended easily by Kuhula. A jab lands there for Kuhula. Kuhula lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Kuhula sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Kuhula throws a series of punches but Allen avoids them all with ease. Allen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kuhula scores with a nice strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Kuhula scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Allen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kuhula is fending him off so far but Allen persists. Nope, Kuhula circles away and we're back to standing. Tonothan Kuhula has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Allen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Allen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Allen shoots in and drives through. Kuhula sprawls well. Allen looks winded! Kuhula stuffs the takedown attempt from Allen. Allen gets slowly back to his feet. Allen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Allen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kuhula's corner calls for a 1-2. Kuhula obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kuhula moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Allen is rocked! Kuhula is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Allen get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Allen stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Kuhula runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
