Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Teppo Tulppu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Owth!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owth misses with a jab, cross combination.
Owth lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Owth connects with a body shot.
Owth shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tulppu eats them both and turns towards Owth to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Teppo Tulppu has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Owth misses with a body kick.
Owth tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Owth throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Owth misses with a looping left.
Tulppu getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Tulppu swings for the body but Owth moves out of range.
Tulppu with a nice cross.
Owth throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Owth connects with a leg kick. Tulppu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Owth dodges the punch combination from Tulppu.

Owth feints and as Tulppu raises his hands in defense, Owth changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tulppu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Owth.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Owth is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Owth throws a big elbow that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Owth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Owth loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Owth stands up over Tulppu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Owth tries to free his leg and advance position but Tulppu is retaining full guard.
Owth throws a big right hand that misses.
Owth trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Owth has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Owth is looking to pass into half guard but Tulppu pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Tulppu is in guard.
Owth lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tulppu!
Poor strikes thrown by Owth there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Tulppu can't escape the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tulppu wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Owth.
Owth throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Tulppu blocking the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Owth scoring with strikes but Tulppu is staying in there.
Tulppu is trying to escape the mount.
Owth is trying to control here but Tulppu has managed to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Owth missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Owth thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tulppu's head.
Owth not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Owth is trying to work for a kimura but Tulppu is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Owth is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Owth listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Owth lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Tulppu - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Owth!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ruben Owth!
In his post fight interview, Ruben Owth started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
