Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Colin Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yu Wi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Burton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Trip Like I Do. This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wi has a takedown stuffed.
Wi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Burton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Burton counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wi thinking.

Colin Burton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yu Wi.

Burton thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wi if he has to take too many more of those.

Wi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Burton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Wi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burton tries to avoid it but Wi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burton to the ground. Burton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Burton lands a head kick. Wi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Wi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Wi is still on wobbly legs! Can Burton finish him?
Burton throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Wi's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Burton dives in looking to finish as Wi flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Burton's strikes! Burton is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Wi's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Wi was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
