These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wupaski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deckard moves away.

Deckard moves into range and clinches up with Wupaski.
Nice body punch from Wupaski.
Wupaski misses with a hook from the clinch.
Wupaski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Deckard's elbow.
A head punch on the inside from Deckard fails to land.
Wupaski is trying to stall.
Wupaski has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Deckard lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Nice body punch from Deckard - that landed with a thud.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wupaski blocks a body shot from Deckard.
Deckard lands a nice shot to the body.
Wupaski looks winded!
A head punch on the inside from Wupaski fails to land.
Wupaski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Deckard's elbow.

Deckard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A swing and a miss from Wupaski.
A telegraphed right hand from Wupaski misses the target.
Deckard steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wupaski.

Deckard clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice left hand lands by Deckard.
Wupaski blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Wupaski.
Wupaski fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Deckard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Wupaski as Deckard shoots in.
Deckard doesn't manage to clinch there - Wupaski circles away.
Wupaski looks to land a right hand but Deckard moved out of range.

Deckard pushes Wupaski up against the cage in a clinch.

Wupaski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A punch combination from Deckard misses.
Deckard has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Deckard there as he acknowledges the shot.
Wupaski lands a slapping body shot.
Wupaski connects with a crisp jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wupaski throws a lazy right hand but Deckard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wupaski. Deckard does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice shot by Wupaski.
Deckard dips to his left and cracks Wupaski with an uppercut!
Deckard moves away from the strike by Wupaski.
Deckard ducks under a wild hook from Wupaski.
Wupaski misses with a left hand

and Deckard counters with a takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Deckard advances to full mount.
Deckard is landing with some decent strikes but Wupaski is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Deckard postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wupaski looks a forlorn figure.
Deckard looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Deckard connects with a massive shot to the dome!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wupaski can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee warns Wupaski that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Deckard cracks Wupaski with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rick Deckard!
Rick Deckard is the new super heavyweight champion!
Rick Deckard decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
