Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Riku Rupponen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Money Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rupponen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cannibal Corpse I Cum Blood. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Riku Rupponen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Money Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rupponen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ruiz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The fighters are battling for position here. Rupponen manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ruiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rupponen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ruiz trying to control but Rupponen is working from the bottom. Ruiz showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rupponen wants to sweep here but Ruiz controlling him for the moment. Rupponen keeping moving, preventing Ruiz from controlling successfully. Ruiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rupponen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Money Ruiz was stalling too much, according to the referee. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ruiz. You can see the frustration on Rupponen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ruiz is trying to get an arm triangle but Rupponen is defending well. Rupponen tries to buck Ruiz off but Ruiz is having none of it. Ruiz controls the position from side control. Rupponen tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruiz is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Rupponen is looking for a sweep. Rupponen can't do much from the bottom here. Ruiz creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rupponen tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ruiz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Ruiz looking to finish Rupponen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rupponen!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruiz controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruiz working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Rupponen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ruiz wants to take his opponent's back but Rupponen doesn't allow it. Ruiz trying to control but Rupponen is having none of it. A nice elbow there by Ruiz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rupponen tries to hold on but Ruiz pushes him away. Rupponen is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruiz has a good base and remains in mount. Rupponen is working hard here to advance position. Ruiz tries to control but Rupponen wriggling away. Ruiz looking to control and managing it successfully. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rupponen is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruiz has a good base and remains in mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rupponen takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Ruiz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rupponen is surviving well by controlling Ruiz's body position as best he can. Ruiz controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Money Ruiz dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rupponen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ruiz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ruiz. Ruiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rupponen controls Ruiz momentarily but Ruiz frees himself. Ruiz is pushing down on Rupponen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rupponen is fighting to maintain full guard but Ruiz has managed to sneak the leg through. Rupponen looking for submissions off his back. Ruiz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rupponen sees it coming and defends easily. Ruiz working Rupponen over with strikes. Rupponen trying to control but Ruiz postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rupponen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ruiz is looking for a kimura here.
Ruiz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Rupponen is trying to get back to full guard. Ruiz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

He's hooked one of Ruiz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruiz's back! Ruiz fending off the submission attempt from Rupponen. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ruiz breaks Rupponen's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Ruiz controls from within his opponent's guard. Rupponen is looking for a triangle but Ruiz pushes his legs off easily.
Ruiz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ruiz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rupponen has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ruiz seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rupponen is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
