Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giuseppe Dainty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pep El Marino!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Marino avoids a kick to the body.
Dainty swings away with a body shot that misses

so El Marino counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dainty controlling the position.
El Marino trying to control but Dainty is working from the bottom.
El Marino wants to pass the guard but Dainty is keeping the position.
El Marino trying to control the position from guard on top but Dainty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dainty is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Pep El Marino was stalling too much, according to the referee.
El Marino shoots in but Dainty avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dainty.

Dainty circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dainty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
El Marino stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giuseppe Dainty. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dainty avoids the head kick by El Marino.

Dainty clinches up with El Marino and pushes him back against the cage.
El Marino is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
El Marino is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dainty to keep the fight standing.
Dainty prevents El Marino from breaking the clinch.
El Marino wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dainty preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dainty is pulling down on El Marino's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
El Marino postures up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dainty is pulling down on El Marino's head. It's preventing any offense from El Marino, at least for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Giuseppe Dainty.

El Marino darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dainty moves into full guard.

Dainty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. El Marino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dainty is trying to control the position but El Marino postures up.

El Marino lands a couple of digs.
Dainty has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
El Marino cracks Dainty with a solid left hand.
El Marino is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

El Marino thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dainty keeping full guard, as El Marino tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pep El Marino dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


El Marino tries to clinch up but Dainty circles away and keeps his distance.
Dainty looks for a takedown but El Marino sprawls well.
Dainty keeps the fight on the outside.

El Marino closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - El Marino lands in his opponent's guard.
El Marino is looking to work some ground and pound but Dainty has wrist control.
Dainty keeping moving, preventing El Marino from controlling successfully.
Dainty controls El Marino momentarily but El Marino frees himself.

Dainty trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Dainty throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
El Marino won't allow Dainty to get back to his feet.
Dainty striking off his back but it's not causing El Marino any problems.
Pep El Marino has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dainty lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for El Marino!
El Marino looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Dainty trying to control momentarily.

Dainty is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
El Marino can't escape the position.

Dainty working for the choke.
El Marino looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
El Marino rolls, trying to escape but Dainty keeps control of the position.

El Marino just trying to survive but Dainty is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Dainty's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El Marino trying to control the action but Dainty just sinks the hooks in.
El Marino has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
El Marino is breathing heavily.
Dainty keeps control of the position as El Marino tries to break free.
Dainty lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can El Marino hold on?!

Will Dainty go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Dainty has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for El Marino! Can he survive? No! He's out! Dainty gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
