Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Magnuson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burt Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Ward or perhaps it was just good defense by Magnuson which made him look bad.
Magnuson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Magnuson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ward manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Magnuson manages to get himself to full guard.
Ward pushes down on Magnuson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ward is working for a submission of some sort.
Ward tries to pass to full mount but Magnuson defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Magnuson pushes Ward off looking to stand but Ward dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ward doesn't have the hooks in and Magnuson manages to turn into his guard.
Magnuson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ward has his foot on Magnuson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Magnuson works his way back into a safe position though.

Ward slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Ward tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ward has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ward has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Magnuson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ward yanks on the arm and Magnuson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ward.
