Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucio Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares comes to the cage accompanied by Three 6 Mafia - It's A Fight . Silver has chosen Pirate Song as his entrance music. John Silver has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Silver!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares shoots in for a takedown but Silver shows good takedown defense.
Silver keeps the fight on the outside.
Silver throws a good cross that connects.
Palhares is looking to clinch.
Silver misses with a head kick.

Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silver is pressing down on Palhares's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucio Palhares will probably get the nod.

Silver throws a solid leg kick but Palhares takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Silver.

Palhares goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silver has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Palhares but great work by Silver.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lucio Palhares will probably get the nod.

Silver looks up at the clock and then as Palhares takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Silver smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Silver remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Silver holds on and takes a little breather.

I would just about give that final round to John Silver.
