The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Megaphny bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Megaphny looks to land a left hand but Sladkov moved out of range nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Megaphny. Sladkov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Megaphny is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sladkov.
Sladkov tries to move into range but Megaphny moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Megaphny tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sladkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Megaphny.
Megaphny throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sladkov counters with a two punch combo.
Megaphny connects with a nice looking jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Megaphny lands with a right hand.
Megaphny misses with a left hand
and Sladkov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sladkov lands an overhand right.
Megaphny misses with a wild combination.
Megaphny throws a lazy right hand but Sladkov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sladkov avoids the body shot from Megaphny.
Kirk Megaphny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Megaphny connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sladkov's hands.
Sladkov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Megaphny looks for the body kick but Sladkov saw that one coming.
Sladkov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Megaphny.
Megaphny fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Megaphny lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Oleg Sladkov has been cut.
Sladkov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Megaphny.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Megaphny misses with a body shot.
Megaphny bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sladkov's head.
Megaphny lands a left and a right that send Sladkov crashing to the mat, dazed. Megaphny thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Sladkov is rocked!
Megaphny throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Sladkov crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kirk Megaphny!
A relieved looking Kirk Megaphny thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
