Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reyes misses with a straight right. Johnson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Reyes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Reyes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Reyes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Reyes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Johnson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reyes but great work by Johnson. Johnson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Reyes some visible discomfort.
Johnson cracks Reyes with an elbow. That is naaassty. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. You can see the frustration on Reyes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Johnson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Reyes some visible discomfort.

It looks like Hugo Reyes has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson working away. Johnson is putting a hurting on Reyes here, landing some big shots from side control. Johnson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Reyes shoots in but no luck this time. Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Reyes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Reyes walks into a left hand. Johnson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Reyes throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson. Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reyes. Reyes is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reyes blocks a jab. Johnson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Reyes throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Johnson thows a huge punch but Reyes dodges it nicely.
Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johnson is nestled in close to Reyes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That has opened up Hugo Reyes's cut even more. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reyes wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Johnson passes the guard and advances to mount! Johnson cracks Reyes with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Reyes is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hugo Reyes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
