Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rand Al Thor!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Thor goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Shields shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Al Thor but Al Thor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shields takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Al Thor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Whack! Al Thor lands a heavy head kick that drops Shields. The ref tackles Al Thor to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Shields was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Rand Al Thor!
Rand Al Thor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
