Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Maddoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Maddoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddoa has his takedown stuffed
and Nunes finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Nunes misses with a wild combination.
Maddoa tries to close the distance and clinch but Nunes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A solid body kick from Nunes.
A head kick misses from Nunes.
Nunes leaves Maddoa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nunes throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Nunes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nunes swats away the attempt to clinch by Maddoa.
Maddoa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nunes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Maddoa is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Maddoa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A chopping leg kick lands by Nunes.
Maddoa has a takedown stuffed.
Nunes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Nunes counters with a two punch combo.

Nunes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Maddoa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
You can see the frustration on Maddoa's face as Nunes controls the position.

Nunes stands up.
Nunes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maddoa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nunes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nunes scores with a head kick.
Maddoa blocks a head kick by Nunes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nunes thuds his shin into the meat of Maddoa's side.

Maddoa shoots in for a takedown but Nunes shows good takedown defense.
Maddoa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Maddoa is breathing heavily.
Maddoa misses with a head kick.
Nunes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nunes misses with a head kick.
Maddoa takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A left and a right from Nunes both land. Nice combination.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nunes throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sloppy strikes from Nunes. Those never looked like landing.
Nunes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Nunes dominated that round.
That's time! Maddoa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nice uppercut lands for Nunes. That snapped Maddoa's head back.
Maddoa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nunes can pounce on him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Maddoa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nunes misses with a head kick.
Maddoa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maddoa misses with a low kick as Nunes jumps back.
Maddoa wants to land a leg kick but Nunes is out of range.
Maddoa darts in trying to clinch
and Nunes counters with a low kick, right behind Maddoa 's knee.
Nunes is looking to slow Maddoa down with leg kicks.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Maddoa. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Nunes throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Maddoa misses with a takedown
and Nunes counters with a thumping low kick.
Maddoa tries to clinch but Nunes moves out of range.

Nunes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nunes lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nunes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maddoa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Diego Nunes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Maddoa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nunes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Maddoa has him pressed against the cage.

Nunes decides to pull guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maddoa wants to control from the top but Nunes keeps moving.
Maddoa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Brad Maddoa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Maddoa shoots in for a takedown but Nunes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Nunes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Maddoa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

and Nunes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Maddoa is lucky that one didn't land flush.
