Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ossi Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Prodigy - Omen kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ossi Jokinen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
38 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ossi Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Jokinen moves away and avoids it.
Jokinen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jokinen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jokinen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.
Jokinen is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Jokinen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jokinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jokinen wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Jokinen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jokinen tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Jones wants to sweep here but Jokinen controlling him for the moment.

Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ossi Jokinen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Jokinen lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.
It looks like Paul Jones has been cut.
Jokinen throws a lazy uppercut
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Jokinen ducks down to avoid it.
Good leg kick by Jokinen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ossi Jokinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jokinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.

The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Jokinen counters with a nice uppercut.

Jokinen misses with a wild body shot.

Jones takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Jokinen backing up. Jokinen nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jones is rocked!
Jones keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jokinen.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jokinen shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Jones takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Jokinen sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Jones bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ossi Jokinen!
Ossi Jokinen decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
