The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durelle sends Guzman crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Durelle is motioning to the referee to let Guzman up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Guzman is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Guzman shoots in and bounces Durelle off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Oh Guzman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Guzman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Durelle swivels though and keeps the full guard. Durelle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guzman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Durelle is looking to stand up but Guzman isn't so interested in that idea. Guzman seems to have got his legs back now. Guzman postures up in Durelle's guard and throws a big left but Durelle blocks it. Durelle keeping full guard, as Guzman tries to pass. Guzman wants to get up but he can't break Durelle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guzman prevents Durelle from getting back to his feet. Guzman trying to control the position from guard on top but Durelle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Durelle can do anything to dispel that myth. Guzman wants to pass the guard but Durelle is keeping the position. Durelle wants to stand up but Guzman is controlling him.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mitchell Guzman wasn't doing enough on the ground. Guzman tries to clinch but Durelle moves out of range. Durelle lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice uppercut lands for Durelle. That snapped Guzman's head back.
Durelle is stalking Guzman. Guzman circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Durelle, and it's lights out! Guzman really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Devon Durelle! An out of breath and clearly excited Devon Durelle thanked Hell's Balls Recovery (160) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
