Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zdeno Chara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Millar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zdeno Chara! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Millar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Chara wants to control but Millar is having none of it. Chara sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Chara gets back to full guard.

Chara swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Millar is now in Chara's guard. A big mistake from Chara there, giving up the dominant position! Chara is trying to keep Millar in close.

Chara trying to control but he's not successful this time. Millar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Millar is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

 That's nine minutes gone in the round. Chara misses with a head shot. Chara sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Poor strikes thrown by Chara there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Millar keeps working. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Zdeno Chara dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Millar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chara but Chara pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Millar. That's going to take a lot out of him. A slapping leg kick lands for Chara.

Chara circles away from the clinch attempt and Chara counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Chara lands an overhand right. Chara throws a nice inside leg kick. Millar looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Chara lands with an overhand left. Chara lands with a cross. Zdeno Chara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chara scores with a hook. Millar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chara defends it nicely. Chara lands with an uppercut that bounces Millar off the ropes and back into range. This has been an exciting period of action! Chara connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Millar's hands.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Millar has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chara finds it's way round the side to connect with Millar's head. Chara cracks Millar with a right hand to the side of the head. Millar shoots in but no luck this time. Millar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A nice leg kick lands there from Chara. Chara lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Millar at a distance.
Chara connects with a leg kick. Millar looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Nice uppercut lands for Chara. That snapped Millar's head back.
Chara pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Millar back to the ropes. Chara follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Chara scores with a sloppy right hand. Millar should have avoided that one. A jab from Chara does it's job there. Chara is looking to chop away at Millar's legs. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Millar.  That's five minutes gone in the round. Jab by Chara. Millar tries to move into range but Chara moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Chara dips to his left and cracks Millar with an uppercut! Chara lands the left hand. Millar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Chara scores with a hook to the body. Millar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Millar fails with a takedown attempt. Chara cracks Millar with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Millar fails to land the takedown. Millar takes a jab right on the kisser.
Chara fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Millar on the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Millar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chara is fending him off so far but Millar persists. Nope, Chara circles away and we're back to standing.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Chara's jab looks to have found its range, popping Millar under the eye. Chara cracks a nice hook into Millar's ribs. A jab from Chara finds it's way through Millar's defenses. A good leg kick by Chara. Millar's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chara connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Millar scrambles back to his feet. Millar throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Chara counters with a stiff right hand. Millar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Chara scores with a punch to the head. Chara scores with a decent looking hook. Millar takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jab by Chara. Millar takes one on the button. Chara slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Chara feints and then cracks Millar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Millar down. Millar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Millar takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Millar has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Millar there as he acknowledges the shot. Millar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Chara lands with a right hand. Nice straight punches there by Chara. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Chara. Good exchange - Chara coming out on top. A head kick misses from Millar. Millar takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Millar on the wrong end of a nice hook. Chara connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Millar's hands. Millar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Chara has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Millar closes the distance and clinches up with Chara, looking for a takedown. Millar pushes Chara against the ropes but Chara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Chara lands a nice shot to the body.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Chara lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Chara catches Millar with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chara lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Millar backs up against the ropes.
Millar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chara pinned against the ropes. Chara gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Millar takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

And that's the end of the fight! Zdeno Chara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Chara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
