Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Urijah Faber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ohna Nicko!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Faber tries to avoid it but Nicko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Faber to the ground. Faber escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nicko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Faber sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Faber has a takedown stuffed.
Nicko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Faber counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Urijah Faber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ohna Nicko.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Faber sitting in guard here, content to control.
Faber advances to half guard.
Faber keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

It looks like Faber is going to stand back up.
Faber is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nicko looks like he's trying to stand up.
Faber blocks the strikes from Nicko.
Faber takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nicko is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Faber lands a nice short elbow.
Nicko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Faber is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Faber controlling the pace for now.
Nicko is desperately trying to improve his position but Faber has a good base and remains in mount.
Nicko in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Faber looking to control and managing it successfully.
Faber is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Faber extends the arm and Nicko is forced to tap!
