Cardosa comes to the cage accompanied by Pennywise - Bro Hymn. Felix Cardosa had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Felix Cardosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erwin Schrodinger!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Schrodinger trying to control the position here.

Cardosa drops back looking for a leg! Schrodinger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schrodinger manages to kick Cardosa off! Cardosa jumps back into Schrodinger's guard.
Cardosa wants to control from the top but Schrodinger keeps moving.

Schrodinger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cardosa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Schrodinger wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Cardosa tries to free his leg and advance position but Schrodinger is retaining full guard.
Schrodinger wants to stand and escape but Cardosa is having none of it.
Cardosa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Schrodinger looking to control but Cardosa passes into half guard.
Schrodinger is trying to control but can't.

Cardosa uses his free foot to push down on Schrodinger's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schrodinger.
Schrodinger gets back to half guard.
Cardosa is controlling the pace.

Cardosa prevents Schrodinger from improving his position.
Cardosa looks to land a strike but Schrodinger avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Schrodinger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cardosa.
Cardosa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Schrodinger's sensitive parts.
Schrodinger slips a jab and a cross from Cardosa.
Cardosa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schrodinger circles away quickly and effectively.
Cardosa chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Sloppy strikes from Schrodinger. Those never looked like landing.
Schrodinger shoots in but no luck this time.

Cardosa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Schrodinger to the mat! Schrodinger manages to get full guard.
Felix Cardosa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Schrodinger keeping moving, preventing Cardosa from controlling successfully.
Schrodinger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cardosa is one step ahead there.

Cardosa lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Cardosa.

I really don't envy Schrodinger right now.
Schrodinger is trying to get back to his feet but Cardosa has full control of the position and if anything, Schrodinger has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Schrodinger tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cardosa connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Schrodinger tries to hold on but Cardosa postures up.
Schrodinger is working to get back to half guard.

Schrodinger reaches up to try and control the position but Cardosa seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Schrodinger rolls and tries to escape and now Cardosa has his back!

Schrodinger has his takedown stuffed
and Cardosa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cardosa moves out of range as Schrodinger throws a body kick.

Schrodinger is trying to keep Cardosa in close.
Schrodinger wants to sweep but no luck.
Cardosa wants to stand but Schrodinger has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Schrodinger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cardosa throws a push kick but Schrodinger slaps the foot to one side.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cardosa.
Cardosa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schrodinger manages to avoid it.
Schrodinger wants to clinch.
Cardosa lands a jab to the nose.
Schrodinger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cardosa gets caught flat footed, as Schrodinger shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cardosa looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Schrodinger is defending well. Cardosa quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Schrodinger has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Cardosa celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
