PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billie Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Billie Moore was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthew Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billie Moore!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore shoots in but Connor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moore takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Connor's jab looks to have found its range, popping Moore under the eye.
Moore gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Connor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Billie Moore has been cut.
Connor stuffs the takedown attempt from Moore. Moore gets slowly back to his feet.

Moore forces Connor back against the cage and clinches.
Moore's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Moore is rocked!
Connor fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Moore is still on wobbly legs! Can Connor finish him?
Connor working aggressively here.

Moore pulls Connor into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Moore looking for a guillotine here but Connor defends easily.
Connor tries to stand but Moore is controlling from the bottom.

Moore looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Moore seems to have recovered his senses.
Connor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moore on the ground.

Moore working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Connor has passed into half guard!
Connor is trying to control. Moore wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Connor prevents Moore from improving his position.

Moore is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Connor pulls his head out easily.
Connor is keen to just control but Moore is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matthew Connor.
Connor moves out of range as Moore throws a body kick.
Moore seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Connor shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Moore is backing up but Connor catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Moore covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Connor Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matthew Connor!
