The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verzosa misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Verzosa throws a leg kick but Smith moved away.
Smith darts in trying to clinch
and Verzosa counters with a body kick that stops Smith in his tracks momentarily.
Verzosa looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Verzosa takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Verzosa swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Smith throws a head kick but Verzosa moves out of range.
Smith misses the jab.
Verzosa swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith.
Verzosa misses with an uppercut
and Smith counters with a big head kick but Verzosa shrugs it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Verzosa counters with an outside leg kick.
Verzosa misses with a wild body shot.
Verzosa swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Verzosa lands with a good body shot.
Verzosa scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.

Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

and Verzosa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Verzosa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Verzosa misses with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Smith misses with a double jab.

Verzosa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Verzosa is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Verzosa changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Smith takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Verzosa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Verzosa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Verzosa looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Smith is defending well. Verzosa quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Smith has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Verzosa celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
