The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins misses with a looping left.
Hawkins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hawkins slips a straight right by Souza.

Souza avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Hawkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Souza moves away.

and Hawkins counters with a three punch combo that has Souza backing up. Souza nods at Hawkins to acknowledge the strikes.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hawkins tries to clinch up but Souza circles away and keeps his distance.

Souza moves forwards but Hawkins connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Souza throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hawkins.

Hawkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souza trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Souza looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Souza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Souza wants to sweep but no luck.
Hawkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.

Souza misses with some strikes from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Souza manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Souza doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Hawkins dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Hawkins counters with a nice body shot.
A head kick by Souza - that's a beauty! Hawkins is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Souza can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
