PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Yikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wexler comes into the arena with Go To Sleep - Eminem blaring out of the sound system. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wexler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A big left from Yikes misses.
Wexler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yikes.
Yikes walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Yikes misses with the combination.

Wexler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yikes sprawls well initially but Wexler persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wexler tries to pass to full mount but Yikes defends it.

Wexler passes the guard and advances to mount!

Wexler stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Yikes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Yikes wants to stand and escape but Wexler is having none of it.
Yikes can't keep his opponent in guard - Wexler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Yikes is desperately trying to improve his position but Wexler has a good base and remains in mount.

Wexler is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Yikes is surviving well by controlling Wexler's body position as best he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yikes is wriggling around trying to escape.

Wexler avoids the attempt from Yikes to control.

Wexler has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wexler is looking to work his way around to Yikes's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wexler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wexler lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wexler throws some wild stikes that Yikes manages to avoid easily.
Yikes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wexler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wexler goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Yikes turns into him and now he's in Wexler's guard.

Wexler is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Yikes rolls with it to try and escape but Wexler cranks on the arm and Yikes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
