Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes into the arena with Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes clinches up with Headden and pushes him back against the cage.
Headden avoiding damage as Barnes throws knees to the body.
Headden drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barnes pulls his leg out and moves away.
Barnes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Headden scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Headden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Barnes has escaped the position, nice work there.
Headden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Headden tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Headden goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Barnes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Headden but great work by Barnes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Barnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Barnes misses with a hook. Headden ducked under it nicely.
Brad Barnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Barnes throws a sloppy head kick and Headden moves out of range easily.
Headden swats away the attempt to clinch by Barnes.
Brad Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Headden misses with a looping right.
Barnes tries to clinch there but Headden circles away.
Headden circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barnes misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Headden throws a lazy right hand but Barnes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barnes throws a head kick that misses.
Headden throws a hook but Barnes blocks it.
A head kick from Barnes lands but Headden takes it in his stride.
Nice takedown defense from Barnes. No joy for Headden on that attempt.
Headden takes a kick to the side of the head.
Headden is rocked!
Barnes lands with a big right hook that stumbles Headden - he's out on his feet here! Barnes follows up with another monster hook that separates Headden from consciousness! Headden falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Barnes stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Brad Barnes!
