Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Choke - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Fairtex! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Urijah Faber! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber misses with a leg kick and Fairtex counters with a slapping leg kick. Fairtex misses with a combination
and Faber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fairtex won't be happy with that. Fairtex wants to get back to his feet but Faber drags him back down. Fairtex keeping his opponent close. Faber tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Faber has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fairtex is trying to get back to half guard.

And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Faber is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fairtex knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fairtex makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Fairtex lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Faber throws a hook to the side of Fairtex's head but Fairtex sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Fairtex misses the jab. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Faber avoids the body shot from Fairtex.
William Fairtex is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fairtex connects with an inside leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Urijah Faber dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A combination from Fairtex does no damage. A leg kick checked by Faber. Faber throws a lazy right hand but Fairtex sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Fairtex misses with a leg kick. Faber blocks a jab. Fairtex ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Faber jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber fails with a takedown attempt. Fairtex misses with a kick to the body.
Fairtex slips a straight right by Faber. Faber closes the distance and clinches up with Fairtex, looking for a takedown. Faber pushes Fairtex against the cage but Fairtex circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fairtex lands a slapping body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fairtex throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Faber. Fairtex scores with a jab. Faber acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Fairtex throws a wild body kick that Faber sees coming a mile off. Fairtex tries to score with a low kick but Faber moves his leg out of the way. Fairtex misses with a low kick. Fairtex does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Fairtex tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Faber was well out of range. Poor timing from Fairtex.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faber misses with a series of wild punches.
Faber pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A chopping leg kick lands by Fairtex. A jab from Fairtex misses. Fairtex goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Fairtex connects with the punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fairtex throws out a leg kick but Faber moves out of range and Fairtex only half commits. William Fairtex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Faber rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fairtex counters with a nice body kick. Faber throws a shot from downtown. Fairtex moves away and avoids it. Fairtex throws a shot from downtown. Faber moves away and avoids it. Fairtex tries to work over Faber's front leg with a kick but Faber checks it. Faber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fairtex.
Faber misses with a kick to the body letting Fairtex counter with a right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fairtex wants it to stay on the feet. Fairtex slips under a jab. Fairtex throws the kick towards the body but Faber avoids it. Fairtex throws a push kick but Faber slaps the foot to one side. Fairtex moves out of range of the strikes. Faber thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's one minute gone in the round. A clash of legs there as Faber blocks the low kick. Fairtex throws a leg kick but Faber moved away. Nice straight punches there by Fairtex. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fairtex. Fairtex walks into a stiff left hand from Faber. Some bone on bone action there as Faber checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Faber thows a left - swing and a miss! Fairtex ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Faber moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faber swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Fairtex stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fairtex wants it to stay on the feet. A big right from Fairtex misses. Fairtex bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Faber shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fairtex's guard. Faber trying to control but Fairtex is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faber stops Fairtex from standing up. Faber passes easily into side control. Nice work. Fairtex tries to improve position but can't. Faber trying to control the position but Fairtex is working away. Faber is staying tight to Fairtex's torso, preventing him from escaping. Faber is trying to get an arm triangle but Fairtex is defending well. Faber trying to control the position but Fairtex is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fairtex tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Fairtex knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Faber on the ground. Fairtex tries to hold on but Faber postures up. Fairtex is looking to improve his position but Faber isn't that keen on the idea. Faber trying to control but Fairtex is having none of it. Faber avoids the attempt from Fairtex to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Urijah Faber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Faber has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
