Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rashad Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails to land the takedown.

Johnson moves into the clinch.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson darts in trying to clinch
and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.

Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Johnson leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Johnson gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.
Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Jones's guard.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson is not content to let Jones control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rashad Johnson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.

Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily.

Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jones is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted?

Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.
Jones wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.

Johnson misses with a head shot. Jones uses the momentum to regain guard.
Johnson trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Johnson postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.
Johnson has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well.
Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.
Johnson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Johnson controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rashad Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Johnson dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Jones on that attempt.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson avoids the head kick by Jones.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Johnson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Johnson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jones tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Johnson!
