3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Romeo Washington! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington misses with a wild combination.
Washington stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A punch lands to the side of Scrwatz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Lyscer Scrwatz has been cut. Washington throws the kick towards the body but Scrwatz avoids it. Scrwatz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Scrwatz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Washington connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Scrwatz scrambles back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Washington misses with a jab, cross combination.

It looks like Romeo Washington has been cut. Washington is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Washington's corner calls for a 1-2. Washington obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Romeo Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Washington does no damage. Scrwatz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Scrwatz counters with a lovely straight right hand! Scrwatz throws a nice looking combination but Washington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Scrwatz throws out a loose jab but Washington uses good head movement to avoid it. Washington lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Washington throws a jab when Scrwatz was well out of range.

He's worked his way up against the cage but Washington has just dragged him back down to the mat. Washington is trying to get an arm triangle but Scrwatz is defending well. Romeo Washington dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Washington waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Scrwatz. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Scrwatz to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Washington has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Washington slips a nice elbow through Scrwatz's hands, connecting with Scrwatz's forehead. Washington looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Washington slips a nice elbow through Scrwatz's hands, connecting with Scrwatz's forehead. Washington moves into full mount! Scrwatz won't be happy about that! Washington lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Scrwatz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Washington with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Washington wants to finish this one by submission but Scrwatz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Washington.
