Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Bessenger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Cool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bessenger's entrance music is Hostile Mass. A fine choice. Cool is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Blind Melon - Skinned. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Bessenger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Cool!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cool lands with a cross.
Cool connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Bessenger is looking to clinch but Cool is avoiding it.
Cool moves into range and connects with a jab.

Bessenger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cool paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cool moves into the clinch successfully.

Cool breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bessenger tries to close the distance and clinch but Cool swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cool drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cool, as that shot connected.
Cool connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bessenger's hands.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bessenger throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cool feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cool bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bessenger's head backwards.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cool circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cool works over Bessenger's head and body with a nice combination.
Bessenger is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cool scores with a jab. Bessenger acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cool throws a series of strikes that have Bessenger backpedaling.

Cool lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bessenger wants to get back to his feet.

Bessenger trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cool stalks Bessenger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bessenger's face. Bessenger staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cool looks to land a combination. Bessenger sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Cool might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Cool counters with a three punch combo that has Bessenger backing up. Bessenger nods at Cool to acknowledge the strikes.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Cool goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stevie Cool dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Cool feints and as Bessenger raises his hands in defense, Cool changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bessenger's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cool tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Let's hope that Cool has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Stevie Cool showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Stevie Cool comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cool has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
