Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Og Kush!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kush tries to close the distance and clinch but Matwijenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kush darts in and clinches Matwijenko up against the cage.
Kush misses with a short punch on the inside.
Matwijenko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Matwijenko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kush is looking to clinch.
Matwijenko misses with a kick to the body.

Matwijenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kush keeps working.
Kush stops Matwijenko from passing to mount.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kush can do anything to dispel that myth.

Matwijenko looks up at the clock and then as Kush takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Matwijenko smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kush parries the strikes from Matwijenko easily there. Matwijenko is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kush to escape.

Matwijenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kush gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Matwijenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kush throws a looping overhand right but Matwijenko ducks down to avoid it.
Matwijenko scores with a one two! Kush had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Kush tries to keep at a distance but Matwijenko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kush lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Matwijenko backwards.
Matwijenko makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Matwijenko manages to break the clinch.
Kush blocks a leg kick.
Kush doesn't manage to clinch there - Matwijenko circles away.
Matwijenko misses with a series of wild punches.
Kush with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matwijenko to score with a decent uppercut.

Matwijenko tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kush avoids it.
Kush stalling in the clinch but Matwijenko improves position.
Kush blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kush breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Matwijenko bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Kush! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Kush is still in real trouble! Can Matwijenko finish him?

Matwijenko gets to his feet and stands over Kush, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kush felt that one! Matwijenko unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kush from any more punishment!
