The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evangelista instigates a clinch.
A knee to the head by Evangelista.
Lawson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Evangelista to keep the fight standing.
Lawson jumps guard but Evangelista stands there with Lawson around his waist. Lawson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Evangelista lands an elbow just above Lawson 's eye.
Evangelista crunches a lovely knee into Lawson's ribcage.
Lawson tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Natel Lawson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Evangelista got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lawson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evangelista has managed to get both his arms back between Lawson's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Evangelista wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lawson's closed guard. He's half up but Lawson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lawson pivots and extends the arm, Evangelista falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lawson! Well done that man!
