Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khalid Al Mahyani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Narushima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Mahyani comes to the ring accompanied by 808 State and James Dean Bradfield - Lopez. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Khalid Al Mahyani!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryo Narushima!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Mahyani scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Al Mahyani throws a wild body kick that Narushima sees coming a mile off.
Narushima throws a head kick that misses.
Al Mahyani avoids the head kick by Narushima.
A head kick from Narushima lands but Al Mahyani takes it in his stride.


It looks like Khalid Al Mahyani has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Narushima connects with an inside leg kick.
Al Mahyani doesn't manage to clinch there - Narushima circles away.
Narushima misses with a low kick.

and Al Mahyani counters with a good low kick that Narushima was not able to check.
Narushima moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Al Mahyani does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Narushima tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Al Mahyani is able to avoid easily.
Narushima swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Narushima throws a sloppy head kick and Al Mahyani moves out of range easily.
Narushima misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ryo Narushima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Al Mahyani tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Narushima takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Narushima throws a head kick but Al Mahyani moves out of range.

Al Mahyani rushes Narushima and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Narushima has had enough of the clinch but Al Mahyani keeps him there for the moment.
Al Mahyani lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Al Mahyani's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Al Mahyani has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Narushima - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Al Mahyani, and another! Narushima is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Khalid Al Mahyani!

A relieved looking Khalid Al Mahyani thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
