The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beam swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kontiovaara connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Beam leaves Kontiovaara with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kontiovaara lands a left and a right that send Beam crashing to the mat, dazed. Kontiovaara thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Beam is rocked!
It looks like Jim Beam has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Beam fails with the takedown
and Kontiovaara counters with a big slam followed by a series of strikes - this one is all over!
