Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jesse Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Casey Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Banner is looking to improve his position.
Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Jones working over Banner with some ground and pound. Banner looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Banner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Banner wants to get back to full guard.
Banner scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Jones manages to mount him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Jones controlling his opponent.
Banner is in all sorts of trouble here.

Jones looking to control but Banner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Banner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jones controlling from mount.
A nice elbow there by Jones.
Jones lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Banner taking shots to the head.
Jones looking to control and managing it successfully.

Jones working for a submission but Banner is keeping him at bay.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Banner is looking to escape.
Banner is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Banner tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Banner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Poor strikes thrown by Jones there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Banner tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
Jones sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Banner working to try and regain half guard.

Banner defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jones.
Banner wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Banner is trying to escape the mount.
Banner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Jones is trying to stick to Banner's back but Banner is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Banner.
Jones is trying to keep Banner in close.

Banner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Banner is one step ahead there.
Banner wants to stand and escape but instead Jones has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jones won't allow Banner to sweep him here.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones passes into half guard.
Banner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones prevents Banner from improving his position.

Jones stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Casey Jones dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Banner smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Banner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.
Jones throws a hook but Banner avoids it easily.
Banner throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones misses with the combination.
Banner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Banner throws a right and a left that both miss.
Banner throws a wild body kick that Jones sees coming a mile off.
Banner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jones has time to react.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Banner's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Banner throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Jones gets to his feet - Banner follows without any prompting.
Sloppy strikes from Banner. Those never looked like landing.
Jesse Banner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Banner throws a looping overhand right but Jones ducks down to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Banner throws a hook to the side of Jones's head but Jones sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Banner misses the jab.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Banner circles away.
A solid body kick from Banner.
Banner connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jesse Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Banner scores with a nice right hand.
Banner lands a jab-cross combination.


Jones is rocked!

Oooooh!!! Banner has knocked Jones down with a huge combo! Banner steps away and waves a wobbly Jones back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Banner finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Banner pinned against the cage. Banner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Banner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jesse Banner is winning the standup battle so far.
Jones walks straight into a right hand from Banner - that's dropped him! Banner jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jones from any more punishment! Jones complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jesse Banner!
