Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Gerrik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anton Gerrik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Ward! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anton Gerrik! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gerrik throws a shot from downtown. Ward moves away and avoids it. Ward circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gerrik ducks under a wild hook from Ward. Ward fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A swing and a miss from Gerrik. Gerrik wants to slow Ward down by chopping away at his legs. Gerrik fails with a takedown attempt. Gerrik throws a head kick that misses. Ward lands with a cross.
It looks like Anton Gerrik has been cut. Gerrik clinches up against the cage. Ward dodges an elbow strike from Gerrik.
Gerrik misses with a punch to the body.
Gerrik breaks the clinch.
Gerrik will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gerrik tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ward manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gerrik is looking to clinch but Ward is avoiding it.
Gerrik tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gerrik misses with a hook
and Ward connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ward moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Ward stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ward wants it to stay on the feet. Fred Ward has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anton Gerrik. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ward lands a slapping body shot.
A cross from Ward lands. Fred Ward is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ward moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That has opened up Anton Gerrik's cut even more. Ward pounces like a tiger and cracks Gerrik with a vicious hook! Gerrik is down but not out! Ward follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
