Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Tannur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tannur has chosen Desert Rose as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tannur ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maynard moves away.

Tannur looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Maynard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tannur throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Tannur lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

It looks like Peter Maynard has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tannur working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Tannur lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Peter Maynard's cut is getting worse.
Tannur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Maynard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Maynard tries to get out of the position.

Tannur wants to finish this one by submission but Maynard is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tannur.
