Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John McLane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buster Joncs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLane comes to the cage accompanied by Summer In The City. Buster Joncs is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buster Joncs!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joncs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McLane somewhat.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Joncs showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
McLane wants to get back to his feet but Joncs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Joncs not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Buster Joncs.

McLane is fighting off a takedown attempt but Joncs is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McLane to the mat. McLane regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McLane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Joncs defends well.

McLane thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
McLane manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McLane wants to control the pace but Joncs is squirming around nicely.

McLane is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Joncs to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Joncs shrugs it off.

Joncs holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as McLane tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

McLane goes for an armbar but Joncs turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Joncs.

Joncs got a little sloppy there for a moment and McLane has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joncs has managed to get both his arms back between McLane's legs - danger averted.

McLane is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McLane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Joncs to keep the fight standing.

McLane somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buster Joncs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Joncs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McLane's guard.

You can see the frustration on McLane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee asks Joncs politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Joncs prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Joncs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
