Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sorin Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Deck!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Markov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Markov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Markov wants to get back to striking at distance but Deck won't allow it.
Markov tries to break the clinch but Deck is controlling the position.
Markov managing to block the knees to the body from Deck.
Deck with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Markov tries to break the clinch but Deck is controlling the position.
Deck jumps guard but Markov stands there with Deck around his waist. Deck gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Markov avoiding damage as Deck throws knees to the body.
Markov wants to break the clinch but can't.

Markov manages to pull guard.
Deck wants to pass the guard but Markov is keeping the position.
Markov is looking to stand up but Deck isn't so interested in that idea.

Markov pushes Deck off looking to stand but Deck dives back in and keeps control.
Deck wants to pass to mount but Markov is defending the position.

Deck is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Markov controlling the position well.

Deck is working for a kimura but Markov is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Deck is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Deck looks gassed!
Deck wants to free his trapped foot but Markov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Markov is looking for a sweep. Deck is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Markov wants to control but Deck is keeping busy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Deck is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Markov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Deck.

Markov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Deck is trying to work for a kimura but Markov is defending well.
Markov tries to kick Deck off but Deck keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Markov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Markov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Deck moves away.
Sorin Markov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
No joy there for Markov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Markov scores with a jab.
Markov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Deck is fending him off so far but Markov persists. Nope, Deck circles away and we're back to standing.
Markov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Markov tries for a takedown but Deck sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sorin Markov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Deck blocks a head kick by Markov.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Markov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Deck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Deck dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Markov shoots in and drives through. Deck sprawls well.
Deck takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Markov takes the fight into the clinch.
Markov wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Deck trying to land knees to the body.
Markov wants to break free but Deck has control.
Deck fails to pull guard.
Deck wants a takedown.
Deck has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Markov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sorin Markov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Deck.

Markov stops a takedown attempt from Deck.

Deck is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Markov pulls his head out easily.

Deck is looking for a sweep. Markov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Deck manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Deck wants to sweep but no luck.

Deck has his foot on Markov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Markov works his way back into a safe position though.
Deck manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Deck with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Deck is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Markov has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Markov wants to try and get back to his feet.

Deck looking to secure an arm triangle but Markov defends it well.
Markov tries to buck Deck off but he can't manage it.

Deck is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Markov is surviving well by controlling Deck's body position as best he can.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Deck has hold of Markov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Markov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Deck quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Deck but it's paid off an Markov is forced to tap! Nice work by Deck.
