Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Goran Spaten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Florentino Ernesto Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Spaten might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Knockin Boots by Candyman. Goran Spaten has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Goran Spaten! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leonardo Florentino Ernesto Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spaten throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Alvarez's head. Alvarez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Spaten sees it coming and avoids it easily. Alvarez looks to land a left hand but Spaten moved out of range nicely. Spaten throws a head kick that misses. Spaten avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Spaten keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Spaten wants to clinch up but Alvarez keeps it at a distance. Alvarez avoids the head kick by Spaten.

Alvarez punishes Spaten's body with a nice straight punch. Spaten gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Alvarez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Alvarez swings for the body but Spaten moves out of range.

Spaten closes the distance looking to clinch and Alvarez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Spaten thinking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez lands with a right hand. Alvarez lands a head shot. Spaten tries to clinch up. Alvarez connects with a crisp jab. Spaten throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Alvarez's head. A cross from Alvarez lands. Spaten with a nice cross. Spaten keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alvarez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Spaten looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Spaten on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Alvarez shoots in and gets a takedown into Spaten's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Spaten wants to get back to his feet but Alvarez is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alvarez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Spaten's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez pushes down on Spaten's leg and manages to get into half guard. Alvarez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spaten keeps working. Alvarez prevents Spaten from standing back up.
Spaten keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Alvarez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Spaten with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Spaten avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alvarez. Spaten is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alvarez scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Alvarez lands a nice short elbow. Alvarez tries to pass to full mount but Spaten defends it. Alvarez is trying to work for a kimura but Spaten is defending well.

Alvarez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A solid leg kick lands there for Spaten.
Spaten tries to clinch but Alvarez is having none of it. Spaten staying out of range there. Alvarez takes a swing at Spaten's ribcage but misses. Alvarez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Goran Spaten is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Spaten misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez misses with a wild body shot. Alvarez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spaten was well out of range. Poor timing from Alvarez. Spaten throws a big shot that misses. Spaten darts in trying to clinch and Alvarez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Spaten tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spaten tries to clinch but Alvarez moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Spaten. Alvarez does a little dance to reset his feet. Alvarez looking to score a takedown here. Spaten is defending well but Alvarez drives through and ends up in Spaten's guard. Spaten keeping moving, preventing Alvarez from controlling successfully. Alvarez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Spaten's head. Alvarez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Spaten is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Spaten has escaped and now he's on top! Alvarez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Spaten knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alvarez on the ground. Alvarez has control of Spaten's left arm, preventing Spaten from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez keeping moving, preventing Spaten from controlling successfully. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alvarez has Spaten pulled in close to control his posture. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Goran Spaten wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Spaten moves in looking to clinch but Alvarez pushes him off. Spaten tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Alvarez counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Spaten momentarily.

Alvarez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Spaten did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control. Spaten is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alvarez scores with a couple of nice shots. Alvarez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alvarez passes to full mount! Alvarez quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Alvarez but it's paid off an Spaten is forced to tap! Nice work by Alvarez.
