The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Tyson trying to control the action but Thompistone is working from the bottom.
Thompistone is trying to stand.
Thompistone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Thompistone is staying active underneath Tyson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Thompistone wants to get back to full guard.

Tyson is trying to work for a kimura but Thompistone is defending well.
Tyson content to control rather than advance.

Tyson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tyson is controlling the pace.

Tyson prevents Thompistone from improving his position.

Thompistone is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tyson pulls his head out easily.
Tyson wants to pass the guard but Thompistone is defending well.
Tyson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thompistone keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tyson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Tyson trying to control but Thompistone is working from the bottom.
Tyson prevents Thompistone from getting back to his feet.
Tyson wants to control from the top but Thompistone keeps moving.
Tyson is in close to Thompistone's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tyson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Tyson wants to control but Thompistone is keeping him busy.
Tyson advances to full mount.

Tyson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Tyson landing punches.

Tyson has hold of Thompistone's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Thompistone manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

It looks like Travis Thompistone has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thompistone wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tyson.
Tyson breaks from Thompistone's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Tyson controlling the pace for now.
Tyson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

BOOM! Tyson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tyson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Tyson wants to control the pace but Thompistone is squirming around nicely.
Tyson breaks from Thompistone's wrist control and lands an elbow.


The cut above Travis Thompistone's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Travis Thompistone's cut.
That's time! Tyson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Tyson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Thompistone in his tracks.

Tyson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Tyson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Thompistone!
Tyson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tyson is working for a guillotine from mount but Thompistone frees his head quite easily.
Tyson tries to control but Thompistone wriggling away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tyson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Tyson!
