Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyrell Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rob Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyrell Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rob Gracie! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jenkins misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jenkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jenkins just stands there and leans against the cage. Jenkins pulls Gracie into guard.
Jenkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gracie wanted to stand there but Jenkins had control of the position. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jenkins is keeping the position. Jenkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gracie is fighting to break Jenkins's control of his arms but Jenkins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gracie prevents Jenkins from getting back to his feet. Jenkins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jenkins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Jenkins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jenkins stands up from Gracie's guard - Jenkins perhaps looking for a knockout. Jenkins tries to land a leg kick but Gracie saw it coming and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie throws a right hand that Jenkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Jenkins also avoids with ease. Jenkins shoots in for a double leg but Gracie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jenkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jenkins shoots for a takedown but Gracie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrell Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jenkins moves away. Jenkins lands a head shot. Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jenkins tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Jenkins shoots in and drives through. Gracie sprawls well. Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jenkins swivels and escapes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jenkins to the ground. Gracie is now in Jenkins's guard. Gracie wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving. Jenkins pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jenkins is keeping the position. Jenkins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jenkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyrell Jenkins wasn't doing enough on the ground. Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Jenkins. Gracie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jenkins. Jenkins goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jenkins dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Jenkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nice sprawl there from Gracie as Jenkins shoots in. Jenkins is breathing heavily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jenkins leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyrell Jenkins dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jenkins doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Jenkins tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it. Tyrell Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jenkins misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jenkins fails with the takedown. Tyrell Jenkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrell Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him. A combination from Gracie does no damage. Jenkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jenkins off to one side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jenkins moves into the clinch. Gracie is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jenkins to keep the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins is trying to force a seperation but Gracie has the dominant position. Jenkins pulls guard. Gracie looking to pass the guard. Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie is fighting to break Jenkins's control of his arms but Jenkins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gracie has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jenkins is proving hard to escape from.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jenkins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gracie as he jumps to the side. Jenkins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenkins enables Gracie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gracie wants to get up but he can't break Jenkins's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Gracie passes Jenkins's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jenkins to stand up. Gracie tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jenkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jenkins.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking to break free of the clinch but Jenkins has double underhooks. Jenkins is trying to break the clinch but Gracie has him pressed against the cage. Jenkins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Jenkins taking a breather. Gracie is trying to break the clinch but Jenkins is controlling him. Gracie stops a takedown attempt from Jenkins.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins wants a takedown but no success here.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Jenkins is trying to pull guard but Gracie turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jenkins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gracie smiles and moves away.
Gracie clinches. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie managing to block the knees to the body from Jenkins.
Jenkins is trying to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling him. Jenkins lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rob Gracie will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Gracie closes the distance and clinches. Gracie pushes off an throws an elbow but Jenkins leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Jenkins is trying to force a seperation but Gracie has the dominant position. Jenkins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jenkins jumps guard.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jenkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jenkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jenkins working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Jenkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jenkins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jenkins tries to escape but Gracie is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins is not content to let Gracie control the position. Gracie advances to full mount. Gracie stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Jenkins with a lazy takedown attempt and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jenkins wants to sweep but no luck. Jenkins is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him. Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Rob Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far. Jenkins wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gracie tries for a kimura but Jenkins is defending well. Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jenkins, who protects the arm well. Jenkins manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts. Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Gracie is working for a kimura but Jenkins is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jenkins. Jenkins is trying is best to control the position here. Jenkins looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jenkins regains full guard. Nicely done. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jenkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This has been an exciting period of action! Jenkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that's the end of the fight! Rob Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
