Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Hinkley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Adam Hinkley was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Byrd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Hinkley!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Hinkley does no damage.
No joy there for Hinkley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hinkley throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Byrd counters with a head kick.
Hinkley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Byrd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hinkley tries to stand but Byrd is controlling his head.
Byrd is trying to get back to half guard.
Byrd gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Byrd is trying to control but can't.
Byrd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hinkley tries to stand but Byrd is controlling from the bottom.
Byrd preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hinkley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hinkley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hinkley is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Byrd has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hinkley is looking to defend but Byrd has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hinkley! Byrd pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hinkley taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Michael Byrd!
