Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Gaston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Sanford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Sanford!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaston walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sanford instigates a clinch.
Gaston wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sanford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gaston checks a leg kick.
Sanford throws a head kick but Gaston moves out of range.
Gaston avoids the head kick by Sanford.
Sanford takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Fred Sanford has been cut.
Gaston tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanford swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gaston is looking to land body kicks.
Gaston drops Sanford with a right and a left! Gaston comes rushing in but Sanford regains his composure and manages to keep Gaston in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gaston postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sanford holds on and takes a little breather.
Sanford looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanford, not yet.
Gaston would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanford is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Fred Sanford hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gaston lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sanford has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sanford and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sanford avoids the head kick by Gaston.
Sanford steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Gaston. That one must have hurt.
Gaston checks a leg kick nicely.
Sanford uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gaston.
Good work by Gaston as he checks the leg kick.
Gaston fails to land with a series of punches.
Gaston tries to clinch up but Sanford circles away and keeps his distance.
Sanford uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gaston.
Gaston avoids the head kick by Sanford.
Sanford throws a sloppy head kick and Gaston moves out of range easily.
Gaston moves away from the strike by Sanford.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sanford connects with a leg kick. Gaston looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gaston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nick Gaston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gaston scores with a spinning back kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gaston connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sanford! He's out on his feet! Gaston rushes in and drops Sanford with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Nick Gaston!
