And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohammad Al Nasser!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Nasser leaves Papsevs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Al Nasser closes this distance looking for a takedown but Papsevs circles away.
Papsevs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Papsevs tries to work over Al Nasser's front leg with a kick but Al Nasser checks it.
Al Nasser leaves Papsevs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikita Papsevs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Papsevs cracks Al Nasser with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Al Nasser shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Papsevs but Papsevs pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Al Nasser shoots for a double leg takedown but Papsevs sprawls well. He's pushed Al Nasser's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Al Nasser closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Papsevs is pushing Al Nasser's head away, looking to escape. Al Nasser manages to hold on to the position though.

Al Nasser has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Papsevs is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Al Nasser yanks on the arm and Papsevs is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Al Nasser.
