Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kade Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ridja Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edgar's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Undead. Ridja Cruz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edgar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Edgar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Edgar tries for a kimura but Cruz is defending well. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Edgar works to advance to full mount. Cruz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Cruz holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Edgar tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Edgar looking to control and managing it successfully. Edgar throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cruz because Edgar loaded up on that one. Edgar looking to control and managing it successfully. Edgar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Edgar with a couple of short strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cruz defends it easily. Cruz wants to stand but Edgar has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cruz looks winded! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Edgar is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Edgar gets to his feet - Cruz follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kade Edgar dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cruz throws a hook to the side of Edgar's head but Edgar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Edgar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cruz sprawls well. Cruz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Edgar gets slowly back to his feet. Cruz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Edgar avoids it really well and circles away. Kade Edgar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cruz throws the kick towards the body but Edgar avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edgar shoots for a double leg takedown but Cruz sprawls well. He's pushed Edgar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cruz throws a leg kick but Edgar sees it coming and moves out of range. Edgar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cruz is breathing heavily. Edgar tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kade Edgar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cruz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Edgar is in Cruz's guard. Edgar stands up from guard. Let's bang! No luck for Edgar with that takedown attempt. Edgar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Edgar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Edgar dives in and grabs Cruz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes down on Edgar's head and hops out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Edgar pinned against the cage. Edgar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Edgar as he jumps to the side. Edgar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cruz's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Edgar works a leg free and moves into half guard. Edgar wants to pass to mount but Cruz is defending the position. Edgar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cruz defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cruz is not content to let Edgar control the position. Cruz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Still in half guard, Edgar seems content to control.
We're going to have a standup here because Kade Edgar wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Edgar fails with the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz has Edgar up against the cage in a clinch.
Cruz lands a body punch. Cruz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cruz throws a nice looking combination but Edgar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Cruz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kade Edgar dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Edgar. No joy for Cruz on that attempt. Cruz stuffs the takedown. Edgar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cruz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Edgar throws an elbow but Cruz slips to the side and avoids it well. Cruz prevents Edgar from moving into mount. Edgar in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Cruz tries to bench press Edgar off him but Edgar keeps the position. Edgar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Edgar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Edgar working away. Edgar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cruz stuffs the takedown. Ridja Cruz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cruz closes the distance and clinches up with Edgar, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes Edgar against the cage but Edgar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cruz fails with the takedown. Edgar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. And that's the end of the fight! Kade Edgar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Edgar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
