Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark McFist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Henke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark McFist!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tom Henke!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Henke tries to avoid it but McFist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Henke to the ground. Henke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Good leg kick by Henke there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McFist ducks straight into an uppercut from Henke and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - McFist maanges to regain guard straight away.


McFist is rocked!

McFist had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Henke is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McFist Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Henke's back instead.
Oh McFist is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
McFist is not going to allow Henke to sit and survive in this position.
McFist seems to have got his legs back now.

McFist is looking for a choke. Henke gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Henke manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Henke looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McFist looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McFist is breathing heavily.

McFist looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Henke has picked McFist up and slammed him! McFist can't keep hold of the triangle and Henke manages to pass to side control!
Henke remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFist tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McFist is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Henke's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

McFist looking for a kimura from the bottom but Henke passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on McFist's face as Henke controls the position.
McFist tries to buck Henke off but Henke is having none of it.
McFist looks to move to half guard but instead Henke has passed into mount! Damn!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Henke content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McFist is working to get back to half guard.
McFist is working hard here to advance position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Henke controlling from the full mount.
McFist tries to lock up and control but Henke gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McFist working to try and regain half guard.
McFist tries to hold on but Henke pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Henke dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Henke lands a nice shot that snaps McFist's head back.
McFist shoots for a double leg takedown but Henke sprawls well. He's pushed McFist's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice takedown defense from Henke. No joy for McFist on that attempt.
McFist shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Henke as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark McFist. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McFist closes the distance and clinches up with Henke, looking for a takedown. McFist pushes Henke against the cage but Henke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McFist takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Henke misses with a wild combination.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for McFist. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
McFist shoots in but no luck this time.
The fighters circling - Henke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Henke misses with an uppercut.
Henke drops McFist with a nice combination! Henke dives into McFist's guard, looking to finish!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Henke avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Henke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Henke wants to pass the guard but McFist is keeping the position.
McFist wants to sweep but no luck.

McFist has an active guard here but Henke has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Henke with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
McFist tries to get to full guard but Henke has control of the leg.
McFist is trying to control but Henke passes into side control!
McFist tries to buck Henke off but Henke is having none of it.
McFist is letting Henke control him for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McFist is trying to improve his position.
McFist is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Henke is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Henke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Henke lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. McFist is looking to close the distance but Henke sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! McFist crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope McFist is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Tom Henke!
