Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Baetens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Ramsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Baetens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Ramsey!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramsey with a poor takedown
and Baetens finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Baetens scores with a takedown into Ramsey's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ramsey is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Baetens defends well.

Ramsey is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ramsey is trying to control the position but Baetens postures up.
Baetens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramsey on the ground.
Baetens wanted to stand there but Ramsey had control of the position.
Baetens trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramsey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Baetens is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ramsey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ramsey has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Ramsey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Ryan Baetens wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Baetens circles away from the clinch attempt

and Baetens counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ramsey won't be happy with that.
Ramsey wants to control but Baetens postures up.
Ramsey is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Baetens's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Ramsey is refusing to be controlled, as Baetens sits in half guard.
Baetens tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ramsey.
Ramsey wants to improve his position but Baetens is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Baetens is thwarting Ramsey's attempts to control the position.
Baetens is keen to just control but Ramsey is a slippery customer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Baetens leaves Ramsey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Baetens counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ryan Baetens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Ramsey.

Baetens is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ramsey is just riding it out for now. Baetens eventually gives up the hold.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramsey wants to improve his position but Baetens is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baetens is working for a submission of some sort.
Baetens is breathing heavily.
Ramsey gets back to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramsey is on top in guard.
Baetens might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ramsey wants to control from the top but Baetens keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Paul Ramsey hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Baetens clinches up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ramsey jumps guard but Baetens turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Baetens misses with a short punch on the inside.
Ramsey jumps guard but Baetens stands there with Ramsey around his waist. Ramsey gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Baetens will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ramsey tries to clinch but Baetens is having none of it.

Baetens decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ramsey works his way to full guard. Good work.
Ramsey keeping moving, preventing Baetens from controlling successfully.

Ramsey has an active guard here but Baetens has managed to pass into half guard.
Baetens trying to control from half guard but Ramsey is working away.
Baetens wants to get back to his feet.
Ramsey is pressing down on Baetens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ramsey is trying to control the position but Baetens postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramsey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baetens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ramsey controls Baetens momentarily but Baetens frees himself.

Ramsey is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Baetens rolls with it to try and escape but Ramsey cranks on the arm and Baetens is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
