Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kurt Bain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenneth Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bain defends it nicely.
Shamrock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bain tries to avoid it but Shamrock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bain to the ground. Bain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shamrock dives in and grabs Bain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bain pushes down on Shamrock's head and hops out.
Kurt Bain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenneth Shamrock.

Shamrock manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bain on his heels. He'll look to pass Bain's guard now, I'm sure.

Shamrock wants to control from the top but Bain keeps moving.
Bain pulls Shamrock in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shamrock ducks right into an uppercut from Bain.


It looks like Kenneth Shamrock has been cut.

Bain drops Shamrock with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shamrock looks back up at him and smiles so Bain waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Kurt Bain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shamrock has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shamrock tries to circle away from danger but Baincatches him off guard and hits him in the side of the head with a sharp elbow. Shamrock looks like he's been hit by a taser charge, he's shivering as he falls to the canvas! I bet he can't even remember his own name right now - he's in bits!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Elbow). Kurt Bain!
