PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Kamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Roberto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Kamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Roberto!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kamara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roberto tries to avoid it but Kamara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roberto to the ground. Roberto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Roberto moves into the clinch.
Roberto prevents the takedown attempt.

Roberto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roberto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Kamara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Roberto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kamara circles away.
A big left from Roberto misses.

Kamara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kamara drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kamara jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kamara thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kamara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kamara tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kamara has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kamara has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Roberto is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kamara yanks on the arm and Roberto is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kamara.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chris Kamara!
